Do you have any phobias? Yes, I''m afraid of loud noises, firecrackers and balloons. Let me tell you, the 4th of July is terrible. I get hives when I see a balloon.
When did you realize your fear of loud noises? As a child. Being at a birthday party with balloons and being forced to listen to firecrackers in the back of a VW bus...in the ''60s.
Any of your friends have phobias? I have a friend who becomes nauseous at the sight of John Elway [former Denver Broncos quarterback]. He reminds him of someone who, when he was a child, vomited all over him.

Know anyone else with a phobia? I have a 23-year-old friend who can''t stand sleeping alone in the dark.
Do you think everyone has a phobia? A little bit, sure. I think homophobia seems to be a big part of our society these days.

Do you have a phobia? Clowns. Clowns are horribly scary, and it isn''t funny.
What about them scares you? Everything. White faces, and all the color...it''s just scary.
