Mommy Dearest

Streetalk.

Here''s a heads-up for the weekend: It''s Mother''s Day. This is the time when we get to express our appreciation for the women that brought us into this world. Thank you, Mom.

Kelly, Kirk, Kileigh Swanson and Mrs. Jackie Beale

Mothers & kids, PG & Cohasset, MA

How has your daughter celebrated your Mother''s Day? Kelly: She bought me flowers and we went out to lunch.

What would you like to say to your mother? Kileigh: That I love you and I''m glad that you''re my mommy.

And Mrs. Swanson, what would you like to say to your mother? That I love her with all of my heart and I miss her. I wish she was still here with me. (Kelly''s mother lives near Boston.)

Raquel Godinez

Student, CSUMB

What is your mother like? My mother is a creative, optimistic, inspiring, loving, and understanding woman.

What will you do for her on Mother''s Day? I''ll send her this article and a card to let her know how special she is.

Are you looking forward to your own Mother''s Day? I haven''t put much thought into being a mother myself.

Tell me about your mother. My mother raised me on welfare while she went to school and therefore was not there for me.

But what would you like to say to her? I love you and I support you.

What do you think about Mother''s Day? I believe that our birthday should be Mother''s Day. We should celebrate her accomplishment--I mean, she did all the work pushing me out, right? I really just cried.
