Counting the County: Asked at Monterey Peninsula College

Q: Election Day is March 5 and there are a few countywide races on the ballot. Do you have any interaction with Monterey County?

Follow Up: Who is the most influential politician in Monterey County?

Donna Woods

Not Retired Yet/Pebble Beach

A: My husband does. I don''t. He has a building in Sand City. They are very slow. There''s so much red tape.

First name that comes to mind? For some people it would be Leon Panetta.

Amador Ramirez

Student/Marina

A: Not really. I just go to school. I have seen the signs for the election though.

Name that pol? Sam Farr. Congressman Sam Farr. He''s a very kind person. He cares about the people. He helps. He''s not all bravado. He''s not all talk.

Chandra Apperson

Student/Monterey

A: We''re a county organization. We''re the Monterey County Animal Service Center. We''re an animal shelter out on Fort Ord.

Not even one? I have no idea. The only politician I know, and he''s not really a politician, is Judge Velasquez.
