Follow Up: What will be the big Marina news of 2002?

A: Jack in the Box came. It has a Southwestern feel. No, it would be the University growing. CSUMB and the city of Marina are working together to create campus villages. The city government has been really open-minded about it.
Predictions for the New Year? Unfortunately, development in the areas were we don''t want it, Armstrong Ranch.

A: Armstrong Ranch. People want to develop on Fort Ord because it''s already set up for it. There''s already stuff there and people don''t want it to go to waste.
Crystal Ball? I don''t know. Marina is slow. There''s nothing here.

A: The timing of using land at Fort Ord. How long it takes to get the land transferred over to the public or the city.
Wishful Thinking? I think there''s going to be a population surge. I hope there''s going to be some more housing out here.
