Follow Up: Has an American flag, hanging in a shop window, for example, ever made you buy something?

A: I have an American flag sticker on the bulletin board in my bedroom. It was supposed to go on my car but it''s a new car and I couldn''t bring myself to put a sticker on it.
Gotten the Hard Sell? Yes. It was used in all the car ads. It''s a good time to buy a used car.

A: I have one on my backpack. I wasn''t sure what we were symbolizing. But I want to show support for the American people, not any political viewpoint.
Is Commercialism Patriotic? No I don''t think it''s a good idea to capitalize on the tragedy. I think that would turn me away more than anything.

A: Yes, I do. It''s a flag in my sister''s window in her house in Victorville. I hang it upside down because America is upside down. Everything goes to hell in one way or another.
Buy American? It depends. I don''t remember it happening but America inspires you in a lot of ways.
