Avoiding Extinction: Asked at the Farmer’s Market at MPC

Q: Have we taken better care of the environment since Earth Day began in 1970?
Follow-up: What is your favorite aspect of nature?

Sandy Smith
Volunteer | Monterey
A: A lot of people are trying to make the environment better. However, I’m extremely disappointed in the present administration’s handling of it.
All Its Glory: The beauty of it.

Phil Balma
Computer Consultant | Salinas
A: No, we’re just more informed of what we’re not doing as well. With our current president, the earth might not survive.
Had To Be There: Just being in it.

Lori Hightower
Homemaker | Carmel
A: I do think that people are taking better care of the planet. Children are now more educated about conserving resources and that knowledge is passed on to the parents.
I Can Breathe: Fresh air. I lived in LA so any fresh air is good, even fog.
