A New Look -- Asked in Downtown Salinas

Q: Should Salinas become a more developed big city or remain a small town?

Follow-up: What’s your favorite city?

David Baldwin
English Teacher | Numazu

A: Salinas should be the same sleepy town it’s always been. If people want to live in big cities they can go to San Jose or San Francisco. Bigger is notalways better.

Way Down South: San Diego.

Raedee McAleese-Kahl
Marketing Director | Salinas

A: The addition [of a 14-screen movie theater and hotel] to Old Town is going to be very beneficial to Salinas. However, I think Old Town needs to keep its quaintness and character.

Good Old Bourbon: New Orleans.

Tony Jones
Construction Manager | Salinas

A: We do have a pretty young population in Salinas, so maybe a movie theater isn’t such a bad idea as long as the community is behind it.

Home Sweet Home: Irvine, where I grew up.
