Ska Rollers

Warsaw’s nonstop tour stops at Viva.

The guys in Warsaw probably have some outstanding stories from the road. The Arizona ska quartet has performed 300 shows a year for the last eight years. In 2001, the band was ranked number seven on Jambase.com’s list of touring bands with the most shows.

With sponsors including Jagermeister and New Belgium Brewing, it is safe to say that these guys probably don’t curl up with a good book after gigs in New York City or Waikiki.

Besides knowing how to party, Warsaw has had its music featured on MTV’s Road Rules, ESPN/NBC’s Triple Crown competitions and Fox Sports’ Blue Torch Television.

Their latest CD, Dub Confrontation, is a split release with label mates Stucky. On the 18-song disc, both bands create dubbed-out versions of their old songs and a few new ones.

Their upcoming live CD features songs from Warsaw’s best performances from 1997 to 2003.

Warsaw plays Thursday and Friday, 9pm at Viva Monterey, 414 Alvarado St., Monterey. No cover. 646-1415.
