Street Talk

Serve It Up: Asked in Downtown Monterey.

Q: Should junk food be allowed in elementary and high schools?
Follow-up: What is your favorite junk food?

Wendy Milligan
Teacher | Seaside
A: It’s okay to have it as a choice. Making more, healthier choices available would be better though.
We All Scream: Cherry Garcia ice cream.

Brett Hekkers
Student | Pacific Grove
A: Absolutely not. Kids are young and impressionable and what they eat now will set them up for what they’ll be eating the rest of their lives.
Acquired Taste: Salt-and-vinegar chips.

Deb Campbell
College Instructor | Visalia
A: No. Schools serve to educate both in the classroom and around campus. We teach good nutrition and therefore should practice it as well.
King of Fast Food: In-N-Out burger with grilled onions.
