Q: What’s the best-kept local secret college students should know?
Follow-up: What college 101 course would you teach?
Anna Napoli | Sports Center Clerk | Monterey
A: I’d tell them to escape stress from school they should take a walk around Carmel Beach. There are no fishing boats or poles there so it’s just the white sand and the water.
Night Owl: Best Nightspots in Monterey 101. I think I could teach that.
Paul Costa | Flight Attendant | Monterey
A: Check out Santa Cruz because there is more stuff happening up there than here like clubs and concerts. Monterey can be a little sleepy.
Teacher Appreciation: Tapping the Stuff You Learned 101. This would be a course on everything you learn in college that doesn’t seem important at the time.
Laurie Burnham | Retired | Salinas
A: Monterey Sports Center, because it’s just a good place to exercise and it doesn’t cost much. I love the warm water. Also there is a wonderful restaurant, the Sand Bar and Grill, on the Old Wharf Two.
Bang for the Buck: How to Handle Your Finances 101. I was an accounting major.
