A Life in Music Cut Short
Party to celebrate Bill Ray’s life planned in Carmel Valley.
Thursday, January 19, 2006
On Monday, Jan. 9, Carmel Valley resident Bill Ray passed away unexpectedly in Southern California. Ray operated Rancho Productions, an agency that booked great bands like The Gourds, The Greencards and Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion at Carmel Valley venues like the Hidden Valley Theatre and Plaza Linda Restaurant over the last few years. Recently, Ray organized the Reckless Kelly show at Monterey’s Golden State Theatre.
A warm-hearted guy and a real music fan, Bill Ray will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the local music community.
Celebrate Bill Ray’s life with a “finger food” potluck get-together at the Hidden Valley Theater, Carmel Valley Road and Ford Road in Carmel Valley, this Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. For more information, e-mail Charlie Davis at vontrips@aol.com or Peri Basseri at peri@bigtimevid.com.
