Follow-up: What ocean creature do you identify with the most?
JOAN GARCIA | Board of Education Trustee | Hollister
A: The pull of the tide. I’m from a place with a lot of lakes. Out here, I wasn’t used to the undertow. If you don’t respect the ocean, it can pull you out.
Fly Girl: I’m probably like a seagull, because as a kid I always thought I could fly. Even now, I like the idea of soaring.
JORDAN IANNIELLO | Busboy | Prunedale
A: Sharks. I have had friends who had surfed and were killed by sharks. They can attack anytime and without warning, although I will still go in the water.
Anemone’s Friend: A clownfish, because I joke around a lot. I would probably be a green one.
GAYLA ROBLEDO | Cashier | Castroville
A: I’m afraid of getting water on my face. When I was little, I was accidentally burned on the face with hot water. I get scared if I get it on my face now. I’m really careful in the shower.
Specific Species: A lemon-colored guppy. They are small and cute.
