Asked at Monte Vista Market in Monterey.

Q: With a newly-elected mayor and developments in the works, what is this city missing?
Follow-up: What’s Monterey’s best-kept secret?
DANIEL LEE | Customer Service | Monterey
A: A “gentleman’s club” is missing for all the old convention guys running around town. I say this since I’m constantly asked this very question at my work.
Beach Bum: The underused beaches around town, especially Asilomar Beach.
TRACIE HOLT | Server | Spreckels
A: I’d like to see more local business, smaller shops ran by locals themselves. Although there’s a convenience to big businesses, such as Starbucks, I don’t think the city makes it convenient for smaller businesses.
Fun in the Sun: Del Monte Beach right off the Wharf. I love to take my kids there.
JOSE JIMENEZ | Retail | Monterey
A: We need a better night life, more things to do for the younger community. I used to live in LA—there are always things to do. We need to pump up our nights around here.
Finger Lickin’ Good: Monterey’s best kept secret is Monte Vista Market. Melvin cooks the best ribs and chicken.
