Q: WHAT NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS HAVE YOU BROKEN?

Follow-up: WHAT'S ONE THAT YOU ACTUALLY KEPT?

PETE SANTISTEVAN | Palette driver| Salinas

A: All of them. Everybody makes and breaks the same ones, to lose weight, do right by others, to be successful. At least nine out of 10 get broken.

Shrinkage: I did finally lose that weight. I used to be about 265, and now I’m down to 185.

JACKIE TROY | Bartender | Moss Landing

A: To quit smoking. I’ve tried year after year after year. I’ve tried to eat better, to go and buy healthier foods, but they only seem to make it into my fridge for a month or two.

Dry Run: I quit drinking. I now completely abstain from alcohol. I’ve been sober for over a year and a half.

LARRY NELSON | Healthcare worker | San Francisco

A: I don’t really make ‘em. Everybody breaks them anyway. I just try and get the most out of each and every day.

I Get Around: To get out and go. There’s a lot of things I don’t like about this town, so I’ve done a good job on getting out and seeing different places.
