Six countries celebrate independence in July. What freedom do you enjoy?
Thursday, July 5, 2007
ADRIANA NAREZ | Student | Salinas
A: The freedom to dance, to express yourself, to be who you are, to enjoy life.
Shout Out: People take the freedom to speak for granted. People don’t have to think twice about what they say.
PATRICK MENDEZ | Accounting Assistant | Salinas
A: The freedom to walk around and do anything I want, as opposed to being in prison.
Bars and Stripes: If you [violate the law, you] get arrested, you have to go to jail, and then you’re locked up. So I think people take their freedom in general for granted.
MARY ANN TONEY | Women’s Basketball Coach | Salinas
A: The freedom to find your passion and live your dreams.
Minus the Mayhem: I was watching this show on TV the other day about Darfur and how tragic it is for the people living there. I think people really take for granted their freedom to live without turmoil.
