Hotels in Big Sur reopen for summer visitors — outlook positive.

Highway 1 is open and so, too, are most of the restaurants in the Big Sur Valley in the aftermath of the county's largest ever wildfire, still burning in the eastern and northeastern edges of the Los Padres National Forest.
