MBARI OPEN HOUSE | MOSS LANDING– The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute hosts its annual open house, highlighting the cutting-edge science and technology that have made MBARI one of the country’s leading oceanographic research institutions. Visitors can see samples of deep-sea life and geology, explore oceanographic instruments, watch research talks and videos, try hands-on science activities, build underwater robots and learn about careers in ocean science. GREENING UP MONTEREY | MONTEREY– On July 22, 2007, the city of Monterey signed the U.N. Urban Environmental Accords and the Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement to further its efforts to be greener. At today’s event, the city reports on its progress. P.G. Mayor Dan Cort and Salinas Mayor Dennis Donohue join Monterey Mayor Chuck Della Sala for a regional perspective on climate protection.
