Follow up: What’s the best thing you’ve done that you haven’t told your mother?
ANGIE ALFARO | Mom | Salinas
A: My energy and enthusiasm. I am a “family engineer,” meaning I’m trying to get back from a divorce with a guy that cheated on me and get back working and supporting my kids.
Culture Class: I studied about other cultures in school. My mom doesn’t understand anything outside our culture.
NATHANIEL DAVIS | Student | Salinas
A: I have a drive to suceed in life. I’ve been doing well in a drug and alcohol program for 11 years. I’m back in school, studying computers. Also, I’m caring.
Vow of Secrecy: I might be getting married. I don’t know how my mom would take that news.
ELIZABETH OLSEN | Student | Spreckels
A: My personality, because it makes me different from others. I have a big imagination and I’m super friendly.
Leg Up: I helped my friend from breaking her leg when she slipped on a trail. I grabbed her arm and she didn’t fall.
