Follow-up: If you could only grab one thing from home, what would it be?
BEBE WEHMEIER | Bookstore manager | Big Sur
A: All day, every day you are living off adrenaline, anxiety and fear, then people are trying to assure you that things “will be alright.” No one really knows for sure– that’s why they call it a wildfire. It’s false assurance, and that irritates me.
Chase Tail: My animals.
DAVID BIDWELL | Metal artist | Big SurA: Deadly rock slides and heavy amounts of debris irritate me a lot.
Canvas the Situation: My favorite painting.
GAEL CUNNINGHAM | Teacher | Big SurA: When I have to drive over three and a half hours to get to town.
Decisions, Decisions: I’d take my wallet and my fire insurance policy– if I had one! My house burnt down in the 1996 fire and so did my record collection–I miss that.
