Del Rey Oaks mayor meeting postponed

A showdown between beleaguered Del Rey Oaks Mayor Joe Russell and the City Council has been postponed until Sept. 3.
The council was originally scheduled to receive a fact-finding report on a bevy of allegations against Russell this afternoon, but the meeting was pushed back due to council member conflicts, said Deputy City Clerk Kim Carvalho.
As reported in today's cover story, City Manager Daniel Dawson is planning to present his findings in each of the 13 allegations on a staff and volunteer vote of no confidence against the longtime mayor. The accusations include micromanaging, sending inappropriate e-mails and authorizing city attorney and auditor expenses without City Council consent.
