Some fans waited in the hot sun for nearly three hours, smashed up against a fence, for Moto GP superstar Valentino Rossi to sign a helmet, poster, jacket and loads of other memorabilia following Friday's practice session at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The Italian racer is considered by most to be the best in the history of the sport, totaling 74 Moto GP wins over his career. He won for the first time at Laguna Seca during last year's race.
Rossi made the fastest laps during Friday's practice sessions. Beating other favorites Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner, both who have won at Laguna in past years.
Today hosts the AMA Superbikes race, as well as qualifying rounds for Sunday's Grand Prix.
