What record/book/clothing would you take to a desert island

Asked at Pilgrim’s Way Bookstore in Carmel.

DAVE ELGIN | Sales | Carmel

A: Autobiography of a Yogi, because it’s an amazing read; Supper’s Ready by Genesis, a great band at the peak of its power; and my glasses so I could enjoy the view.

Peaceful Beach: Ananda, which means “eternal bliss” in Sanskrit.

TAL HARARI | Student | Santa Cruz

A: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, Rubber Soul by The Beatles; high top leather boots, so I could walk up a volcano.

Neutral Ground: Fair Island, because it has no connotations and sounds appropriate, and because I live on Fair Street.

MIKE GUINA | Aerospace Quality Manager | Friendswood, Texas

A: The People’s Almanac, because there would be so many things on the island; Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks; I could care less about clothes, but probably a hat to keep the sun off.

Far Off: I’d call it Away From It All.
