ROVE=GOEBBELS?

Having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years, I expected Karl Rove’s appearance in Monterey on Monday to be met with throngs of angry protestors. Rove is by any objective measure a major war criminal who played a crucial role in planning the invasion of Iraq, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children. Planning a war of aggression is precisely the crime for which German leaders were prosecuted and executed at Nuremberg.

I can understand the Republicans who turned out to support Rove, since he is one of their heroes. The people who I cannot understand are the allegedly “liberal” Democrats who sat and listened politely to Rove’s lies without a peep of protest. Only two people had the courage to stand up and denounce Rove, but they were booed down by the crowd and then asked to leave by the moderator and security.

As for David Plouffe, he treated Rove like the captain of the opposing high school football team, not the modern equivalent of Joseph Goebbels. I guess calling someone a “war criminal” to his face is something that just isn’t done in polite society.Or perhaps Plouffe realized the inherent hypocrisy in criticizing his opponent for his role in a mass slaughter that (as Rove pointed out) Plouffe’s own party leadership supported and over which Plouffe’s former boss now presides.

TORTURING TOM TOMORROW

Being hung by your hands or wrists from a ceiling until your legs get blisters. Hmmm, that was in a cartoon called This Modern World by Tom Tomorrow. This is portrayed as truth even though it’s a cartoon. Well, Tom, if it was not bullcrud like it is, this would put water boarding on the back burner. Is this something you heard on The Rachel (Blood Thirsty One) Maddow show on MSNBC? If you’re going to print cute little liberal cartoons, at least don’t put in cute little liberal lies. I challenge you to print in the next Weekly, where you heard this jiggling of the truth. Rachel Maddow would like to hear about this, fella.

RUN, JOHN, RUN!

American health care will soon be undergoing major-reform by Congress. What part will private insurance get? Californians were fortunatewe hadJohn Garamendi as Insurance Commissioner for two terms.

He reined them in! The citizens of any California congressional district would benefit our nation, by electing Garamendi to any soon-to-be-vacant-seat, including that of Rep. Ellen Tauscher.

We need Garamendi in Congress!
