Developer seeks access through Toro Park
Monday, November 2, 2009
Land-use attorney Michael Stamp is alleging that the Monterey County Board of Supervisors are keeping the public in the dark about giving developer Bollenbacher & Kelton access through Toro Park.
Stamp's office represents the Highway 68 Coalition and The Open Monterey Project. In a letter to the supervisors, Stamp takes issue with an Oct. 27 closed session item where the supes were scheduled to meet with Mark Kelton of Bollenbacher & Kelton regarding "applicant's request to acquire access to proposed subdivision through portion of Toro Park adjacent to Highway 68."
The housing developer is working its way through environmental review for Ferrini Ranch, a 212-home project. "If the developer has requested access to his subdivision through a County park," the letter says, "the public should know about it, and the Board should discuss it in public."
