Staying the Course
Final election tally confirms the early results.

Pacific Grove's parcel tax initiative to support the library, Measure J, came so close--but in the final election tally, updated Friday, Nov. 13, it still fell just short of the two-thirds (66.7 percent) majority needed to pass, with 65.9 percent support.
Measure G, the Carmel Valley incorporation measure, likewise stalled, with 47.5 percent in support and 52.5 percent opposing.
None of the other election results changed from the semi-official results posted election night, Nov. 3. Overall turnout was 30.2 percent, according to the Election Department's Twitter account, MontereyVote.
