Seaside residents request records on city manager's decision to suspend police chief.

A group of 18 Seaside residents signed a Public Records Act request to submitted to the city of Seaside Nov. 16, seeking answers on City Manager Ray Corpuz's decision to suspend Police Chief Steve Cercone.

"We're trying to get some answers," says group leader Al Glover, a local real estate developer.

The PRA request focuses on Corpuz, asking for documents related to his hire, performance evaluations and complaints against him. It also seeks documentation of Corpuz's decisions to put Cercone on leave and hire interim police leaders Stephen Willis and Don MacQuarrie, among other records.

Signatories include: Helen Rucker, Ann Marie Pagan, Byrl Anderson-Smith, Ted Leikam, Bettye Lusk, Edward West, Laura Vierra, Ewalker James, Ruthie Watts, Victor Noble, Willie Laster, Bernard Miller, Lisa Mitchell, David Casas, Patricia Smith and Marjorie, Manuel and Richard Avila.
