H ilarious things come in threes this Friday at the Bankers Casino in Salinas. Act one is Sebastian Cetina, who’s currently touring with the XXXtreme Comedy Tour, a reality show airing later this year showcasing raucous comedians on the road.
Also performing is Aurelio Miguel Bocanegra, who discovered his calling while in the U.S. Air Force; he used humor to connect with fellow servicemen. After two tours, he is been gaining notoriety in the L.A. circuit.
Bocanegra’s opinion on the social networking craze: “When you meet a girl now, she doesn’t give you her number, she says ‘Myspace me’ or ‘Facebook me’ or ‘Find me on Twitter.’ Twitter? What the f*** is Twitter? How ’bout we get to know each other and I Twitter you all night long. I’ll Twitter all over your Facebook and then Myspace you where the sun don’t shine.”
Like Bocanegra, Luke Torres never planned on a comedy career. He studied pre med in college before changing to a theater major. Torres has appeared on In Living Color, headlined on Paul Rodriguez’s Latin Kings of Comedy and plays some of the biggest casinos in the country. He remembers watching The Brady Bunch a lot as a kid, often pondering a Mexican version. “It would be called The Sanchez Bunch: Here’s the story of a man named Sanchez, who was living with six kids in a car. All of them were selling fruit like their father, the youngest one’s behind bars.”
