No City, No Signs
Yes on G campaign reports 'brazenly stolen' signs
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Yes on Measure G supporters are reporting the theft of more than a dozen large campaign signs, accusing incorporation opponents of stealing them. In a press release, Carmel Valley incorporation backers say they woke up this morning to find 13 8-by-4-foot signs snatched from their front yards and driveways.
"Due to how many signs and signposts were stolen, the Sheriff’s Department is calling this Grand Theft," the statement proclaims.
“Supporters on both sides have the right to display yard signs and express their political opinions in support of greater local control over land use decisions here in Carmel Valley," says Yes on G supporter Vicki McMillan in the statement. "I’m disturbed that someone would sink to this level out of fear of losing this election.”
The campaign has offered $1,000 "to anyone who gives information that leads to the conviction of the perpetrators."
