PG Council appoints Thomas Frutchey as city manager
Thursday, September 3, 2009
The Pacific Grove City Council last night named Thomas Frutchey, a Camarillo resident with experience in the private and public sector, as city manager.
Frutchey, who was Oxnard's city manager in the '90s and now is general manager for Hollister Ranch Owners Association, will join the city amid a mass exodus of high-ranking PG officials. Interim City Manager Charlene Wiseman retired Aug. 31, the same day Mayor Dan Cort resigned.
At the Sept. 16 meeting the council is expected to pick a new mayor and decide what to do with the vacant council seat.
Frutchey will earn $175,000 a year under a three-year contract. His first day is Oct. 5.
