How do female coaches and male coaches compare?

Asked at CSUMB Otter Sports Center.

Follow-up: What would you make a competitive sport?

MELANIE LASHBROOK | Student | Seaside

A: Women have a better understanding of emotions during practice and games. It’s easier to have a male coach because they don’t get as involved in aspects of my life.

Bronze Medal: Sunbathing. It’s hard to lay in the sun for a long period of time.

SCOTT GEIGER | Barista | Seaside

A: I think that male coaches yell more. But female coaches take things personally when you don’t do what they ask.

Best Trespassing: “Hot-tubbing” – sneaking into an apartment complex or gym. You could see who turns pruniest first.

EMILY MAY | Sales Clerk | Seaside

A: I think a female coach would better understand the athletes and be less likely to scream at you if you do something terribly wrong.

Mall Marathon: Shopping. It’s hard work carrying all of those heavy bags and walking around to all of the stores.
