Caballero eyes Denham's Senate seat.

Anna Caballero will run for the seat of soon-to-be-termed-out state Sen. Jeff Denham in the June primary, her campaign announced yesterday.
The two-term state Assemblywoman and former Salinas mayor and councilwoman is gunning for the Democratic nomination in the 12th district, which covers a largely agricultural area spanning parts of Monterey, Merced, Madera, San Benito and Stanislaus counties, including southern Salinas Valley and San Joaquin Valley.
Denham, a Republican, has held the office since 2002. Ceres mayor Anthony Cannella is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat.
