CHOMP to build Marina wellness center.
Thursday, April 29, 2010
Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula today released details for a 34,000-square-foot wellness center that will be built next to a planned medical office building in Marina. The center will include a cardiovascular fitness and rehabilitation area, indoor lap and therapy pools, physical, speech and occupation therapy.
"More people than ever recognize that there are steps they can take to prevent some diseases or at least slow their progression,” said Dr. Steven Packer, president and CEO of CHOMP, in a prepared statement. “Centers like this have been created in more than 1,000 cities across America and we’re pleased to be able to provide this opportunity for our community to make a commitment to health and wellness.”
The center, located across from REI at Imjin Parkway and 2nd Avenue, is expected to open the middle of next year.
