Incumbents Unopposed
Monterey City Council race smooth sailing for incumbents
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
No mystery about who will run the city of Monterey for the next several years.
Mayor Chuck Della Sala is unopposed in his bid for a third two-year term in the November election. Likewise Vice-Mayor Frank Sollecito, a former Monterey Police officer and City Councilwoman Nancy Selfridge, a retired teacher, face no competition in their races for second four-year council terms.
Della Sala, 55, is a local realtor who was first elected to the Monterey City Council in 2002 after serving on the city's planning commission for a decade.
The filing deadline for candidates was August 6.
