What’s your most useful holiday advice?

Asked at Macy’s in Del Monte Center.

RANDI HANCOCK | Costco Employee | Salinas

A: To give gifts with thought. I’m making a basket of all my favorite things and I’m giving it to my mom. I’d rather get nothing than get a gift card.

Feel the Beat: Anything given with your heart. It’s so cliché, I know, but it’s true.

ROB ALLEN | Sales Associate | San Jose

A: Shop till you drop. I would say take advantage of all the Black Friday-type deals. Stand in all the lines and be relentless to get the best prices.

Wardrobe Wishes: The one you want the most. All I want for Christmas is clothes.

VALENTINA MONTANTI | Customer Service Representative | Marina

A: Get your shopping done early. I already went to Valley Fair. I’m done now.

Listen and Learn: Something meaningful to the person and something they can actually use. Like, if your mom wants a watch, get her a watch. For myself: a fat gift card.
