What is your pet’s strangest talent?

Asked at PetSmart in Sand City.

Follow-up: If you were a dog or cat, what breed would you be?

PETER KRACHT | Retired | Monterey

A: Before the mail lady comes to the door, my dog is already there waiting for her. As soon as the first letter comes through the slot, he grabs it in his mouth and pulls it in, and then he keeps pulling each letter in.

Tough Puppy: A rottweiler mix.

SIERRA WAMMOCK | Homeschooler | Seaside

A: When my cats see birds, they sing at them. They go “meow, meow!” in this weird voice that sounds like a bird.

Rare Hair: Burmese. I’ve had some good, faithful cats of that variety.

HERALD AND MCKENZIE FREY | Retired Firefighter and Daughter | Monterey

A: Our golden retriever puppy, Harley, is talented at barking a lot when he’s in his kennel. He’s also very good at chewing on leashes.

Sweet Pooch: Chocolate lab.
