No Means Jail
Tom Pollacci sentenced to at least eight years for rape.
Friday, June 18, 2010
Pebble Beach man Thomas Pollacci, 50, was given eight years in prison after he was convicted of raping a woman in April 2008.
According to a District Attorney's Office press release:
"The victim in the case had been visiting a friend in Carmel Valley when she ran into Pollacci at Ron’s Liquors. She received a call from Pollacci the next evening asking her to come to the store to purchase some wine. She went to the store and went with Mr. Pollacci to a room overlooking the store on the second floor. A short time after she arrived, Pollacci assaulted her. She was successful in fighting him off and turned to leave. The next thing the victim remembered was waking up at Community Hospital of Monterey. A sexual assault exam confirmed an assault had occurred."
But Pollacci isn't likely to end up with only eight years. He's been charged with two other rapes, in 2007 and 2008, for which he faces up to 24 years.
