P.G. recommends extending medical pot moratorium, Carmel mulls ban.

The P.G. City Council will consider whether to extend its 45-day emergency medical marijuana ban for a year at its March 3 meeting. Medical pot entrepreneur Daniel Maniscalco said he had hoped to open his medical marijuana dispensary on Central Ave. in P.G. shortly after the March 3 meeting, but he may have to wait until the city comes up with rules to govern it, and any other medical pot facilities who seek a P.G. permit. Meanwhile, Carmel-by-the-Sea is set to consider an all out ban at its March 3 meeting. The California Court of Appeals in Orange County is expected to rule in the coming months on whether such bans are legal.
