The tourism promotion group's new head comes to Monterey County from Jacksonville, Florida where he leads that city's tourism agency.
A nearly 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Reyes did an 18-year stint at the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau working his way up to Vice-President of Sales before moving across the country, according to a statement from the Monterey CVB.
Reyes will replace interim CEO Bob Cowdrey, who took over after CEO Steve Wille abruptly stepped down last October.
Reyes starts his new job April 5.
