Pot...Not!
Judge grants temporary restraining order against would-be PG pot dispensary.

P.G. City Attorney David Laredo reports that Monterey Superior Court Judge Kay Kingsley has granted the city's request for a temporary restraining order against The Apothecary, a medical marijuana dispensary, even though its owner, Daniel Maniscalco, says he's not yet open for business.
Maniscalco's landlord, Ranieri Guimaraes, who runs Tillie Gort's restaurant on Central Avenue next door to the would-be dispensary, is also named in the court order.
"He tried to do right," Guimaraes says, arguing that Maniscalco has been honest with city officials and opted not to open without permission.
Maniscalco didn't return calls for comment.
Maniscalco and his landlords are due in court April 14 to make their arguments against a preliminary injunction.
The P.G. City Council voted earlier this month to extend its 45-day moratorium on medical pot facilities for ten months, and directed city staff to research regulations under which pot shops could operate in the city as well as alternatives like a regional Peninsula-wide pot dispensary or the possibility of pharmacy sales of medicinal marijuana.
