Caltrans goes solar in Monterey.
Wednesday, September 8, 2010
A Caltrans maintenance building in Monterey got a boost of sun juice on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
That's when the agency's 9.6-kilowatt photovoltaic system - built in partnership with Green Earth Engineering and Earth Electric of San Jose - went live.
More solar systems are coming to Caltrans buildings in Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Buellton and Santa Barbara, according to Caltrans District 5 Director Rich Krumholz.
