Green Gonzales

Biodiesel comes to Gonzales—part of the tiny town's sustainability plan.

Home-grown biodiesel—produced in Gonzales—is now on sale at 35 Gonzales River Road.

A public-partnership between the city of Gonzales, Coast Oil Company and Energy Alternatives Solutions, Inc is behind the venture, which is available to Coast Oil account holders—many in the trucking and agriculture industries, according to Maury Treleven, a local green activist.

The biodiesel station is part of major effort to develop green businesses in the agricultural town, including solar energy, recycling, waste to energy conversion,  and organic farming.
