Big Sur firefighters contain Old Coast Road burn.

The Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade has done it again.

Around 9pm last night, the firefighters responded to a vegetation fire off the Old Coast Road, according to a report from BSVFB Chief Martha Karstens.

The blaze was more than 1 acre when the Big Sur engine, along with Cal Fire and U.S. Forest Service crews, arrived. Four hours later, the team had contained the fire at about 2.5 acres. The cause is undetermined.

"Fortunately we did not have much wind, and the temperatures out by the ocean were quite a bit cooler than inland," Karstens reports.
