OPEN SPACE GRANTS | PENINSULA – The Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District will award $75,000 in grants to community groups or local agencies to improve neighborhood parks, protect open space resources or preserve coastal areas. TOUR FORT ORD | MARINA – As part of the Army’s community outreach program for the cleanup of the former Fort Ord, free tours are available by appointment. Experts are available to speak to community groups on groundwater and soil contamination, munitions and explosives, and habitat management. 9am or 2pm Tue-Thurs. Tours last 60-90 mins.
