Born and raised in Salinas, Dr. Lisa Ow returned to her hometown in 2006, doctorate of naturopathic medicine in tow, to bring natural medicine to the Salinas Valley. It worked. These days, she practices in Oldtown – Salinas Natural Health calls a historic Victorian its home – treating men, women and children using nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, hormone regulation and detoxification. She offers educational luncheons and classes, too. To kick off her new gig at A&O Pharmacy, Ow’s offering free, 15-minute hormone consultations every Thursday in March, and free lunch-and-learn talks, noon-1pm, at the pharmacy. Upcoming topics include using HCG for weight loss (March 22) and vitamin D, fish oils and supplement quality (March 29). Ow’s next detox class begins Mondays in April. This doctor is in the house – and the community.
