Q: What should be considered an art form that’s not? James A. Foley

Street Talk 01.26.12 (asked @ Museum of Monterey.)

What should be considered an art form that’s not?

Follow-up: What “art” is most overrated ?

DAN TONSETH | Fish and Game | Mammoth Lakes

A: Food. Like pizza or some high-end eats. That stuff is art even though it gets eaten. Designs on skateboards and surfboards too.

Kid’s Play: Some of this modern art looks like it comes out of my wife’s kindergarten art classes.

JENNIFER LUCIDO | Guest Services | Seaside

A: I have a friend who is a blacksmith whose crafts are beautiful art. Where is the line between art and craft?

Old School: Computer graphics, specifically children’s movies. I miss the old hand-drawn stuff.

BRIAN CALLAS | Antique Sales | Pacific Grove

A: Psychotherapy. It gives greater options in terms of what our possibilities are and what relationships are about and what kind of life we want to have.

Pop Off: Pop music. It’s not art and we’re overexposed to it. What music would be art? Gregorian chants.
