49%: The percent of agricultural land accounted for nationwide by California and Florida, two of the three states that lost the most ag acreage between 1982-2007. (Texas lost the most, New Jersey converted the biggest percentage, 26.8, and each state converted at least 10,000 acres.) Source- American Farmland, Fall/Winter 2010.
