Hear Ye! Hear Ye!: Philip Glass says he remains ever open to influences from and collaborations in “dance, theater, film, the elements of text, movement, image...it’s my world.” His new festival incorporates those in a span of “two weeks to ourselves” between the Carmel Bach Festival, Cabrillo Music Festival and Monterey Jazz Festival, all three of which, he says, he likes and respects. To assemble his artist friends into the festival, he says “You call and just say ‘Big Sur’ or ‘Carmel’ and people want to go.”
