In December a crowd of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators gathered outside a Metropolitan Opera performance of Glass’ Satyagraha. After the opera, Glass got involved, reciting a Ghandi quote from the opera. “If there’s a movement about social change taking place in front of the opera house, [and the] opera is about social change, we have to join it.”
