A series of water quality and wildlife regulators had to sign off on the de-watering process. MCWRA fish biologist Tom Skiles was onsite to rescue native species like blackfish, minnows and Sacramento suckers from teh de-watered area. He also found non-natives including catfish and carp. Crayfish were looking for puddles on the dried out riverbed, and a few fish didn't make it.
