Just got the new Weekly and as a long time Vegan, I agree with you. Monterey County is pitiful in it's vegetarian offerings. The Salad Bowl of the World? It's like that saying, "Water, water everywhere and nothing to drink." There is one jewel in all this, JULIANS in Pacific Grove! Open Fri, Sat, Sun and I think Mon nights only, it is the hippest, bestest restaurant on the Central Coast for Veg/Vegan eating.
Highly recommend it. And I have not finished mourning the close of Mon Chay. :(
